Interview: Toby Hoyte on Park Avenue Open Day

There was good response to Park Avenue’s return last week. What were the highlights from your perspective?

It is always good to see customers and colleagues from the trade and the event was very well organised. I would have liked to have seen more customers from the retail sector there of course. It seemed as though the turnout was not quite the same as previous years.

There was a broad range of product on display – what stood out for you?

We didn’t get too much of a chance to check out the product on offer – we had Chris Black with us from Sound Leisure and between us we had a lot of conversations with customers and colleagues. We did have the Angelina with us as well, of course and that combined with the V5 kits from Sound Leisure mean that we have a solution for all types of businesses with all levels of budget.

The last major assembly ahead of the summer season, what’s on your schedule for the coming three months?

Some people in the industry may know that we have had something of a reshuffle at Soundnet/TouchTunes and James (Luck) who was previously my partner in crime, left to pursue other projects. Karen Sarosi joined us at the start of the year and my role is now to head up this part of the business in the UK, alongside Jo Alford. Despite being part of an international company, there is recognition within TouchTunes of the unique nature of the UK market and we have autonomy to pursue this business with the long-term view I previously mentioned. Therefore, my schedule is to build and strengthen relationships with customers, backed by Karen and Carl (Adams) and their excellent sales and support.
